Introducing…

April 25, 2007 by ausxser

The newest member of my family……Banjo!  I’d like to think he is named for the inimitable Banjo Patterson (great Aussie author and poet) and not because he’s highly strung :)   Banjo was the name given to him by the breeder and as he is 5 months old already we decided it was best to keep it and we love it anyway.  As it is Anzac Day today I think Banjo is a great name for him – the other option would have been “Digger”…

This is the pic from the breeder’s website…

Banjo is a bi-coloured British shorthair (cream and white) and the breeder is Histyle British Shorthair , MOTH and I were browsing the web for a possible breed last night and we spotted Banjo on the breeder’s website – the people that had ordered him had to cancel their order because of ill health and he was available immediately - litter trained, vaccinated, de-sexed and vet checked and all!  I emailed the breeders last night for details and then made arrangements to drive 400+ kilometres round trip to pick him up today – we must be mad (or in love with this beautiful boy!).

The breeders, Daryl and Julie were fabulous and made sure we were armed with everything we needed to make sure Banjo would be happy with us!  All breeders should be like this!  Although we did stop for a very expensive visit to the pet shop on the way home for supplies, you know toys, scratching pole, special Banjo-type bed, etc…..($$$$ Later!)

Banjo likes to climb…..preferably on you….this is MOTH acting as mountain and Banjo being mountaineer!

It’s been way too long since I’ve had a cat in the house – I am loving it already!  They are such great fun and beautiful company!

So cute, so cute, so cute! We are a cat-free household, sadly, since DH is v.allergic (though since living without them I seem to have developed an allergy too). I will gladly come over and cat-sit for you :)
